QR Code Generator

Create QR codes for links, text, Wi-Fi, contacts, email and phone numbers in your browser. Choose colors, size and error correction, then download PNG or SVG.

The Wi-Fi password is only used to draw the code in your browser. It is never sent anywhere and is not remembered.

What can a QR code contain?

A QR code stores text. Phone cameras recognize a few special formats and act on them: a URL opens the browser, WIFI: joins a network, a vCard adds a contact, mailto: starts an email and tel: dials a number. This tool writes those formats for you, so you only fill in the fields.

How to use

  1. Choose the content: text or URL, Wi-Fi, contact, email or phone.
  2. Fill in the fields. The preview updates as you type.
  3. Adjust error correction, size, margin and colors if needed. For a softer look, choose rounded or dot-shaped modules and rounded or circular corner markers; scanners read them just as well. You can also color the dots with a gradient, or add a frame with a short caption such as "Scan to join Wi-Fi".
  4. Download a PNG for documents and chats, or an SVG for print: it stays sharp at any size.

Example: share your Wi-Fi

A WPA network named Cafe-Guest with the password coffee2024 is encoded as:

WIFI:T:WPA;S:Cafe-Guest;P:coffee2024;;

Point an iPhone or Android camera at the code and it offers to join the network. Special characters such as ; , : " and \ in the name or password are escaped automatically.

FAQ

Which error correction level should I choose?

A higher level lets the code survive more damage but needs more modules (dots), so the code gets denser. M (15%) is a good default. Use H (30%) if you place a logo on top of the code or print it where it may get scratched.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The content is stored in the code itself, with no redirect service in between, so it keeps working forever. If the link changes, though, you need to make a new code.

Is my Wi-Fi password safe here?

The code is drawn in your browser; the password is not sent anywhere and is not remembered when you leave the page. Keep in mind that anyone who scans the code can read the password.

Why won't my QR code scan?

Use dark dots on a light background with strong contrast, keep a margin of at least 4 modules (the "quiet zone"), and do not print it too small: about 2 cm (0.8 in) wide is a practical minimum. Long content makes the code denser, so shorten URLs where you can.
